EXCEPTION OF RELATIONSHIP LICENSE AND MOTOR VEHICLE LICENSE WILL BE EXTENDED August 31, PEOPLE WILL BE GIVEN UP TO 30 SEPTEMBER FOR THEIR LICENSE REFIRONS.


As the Movement Control Order (PKP) started to be implemented in March 2020, the Ministry of Transport Malaysia (MOT) through the Road Transport Department (JPJ) provided the exception of the renewal of the Malaysian Driving License (LMM) and Motor Vehicle License (LKM crowded. This is meant to avoid people's congestion at the counter-counter of related agencies.


People are allowed to drive and use their own vehicles during the PKP implemented even though their LMM or LKM has expired, with the condition that the vehicle has legal insurance protection and is still effective. For now, the exception of LMM and LKM renewal is still effective as long as Prevention Order and Control of Infective Diseases (Declaration of Local Area Infection) 2020 is still enforced. Since chogm, all JPJ counter has been fully opened as usual.


Since the extension of PKP after 31 August 2020 as the Special Message of Prime Minister, Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin on 28 August 2020, this exception will be ended through a special cancellation instrument. However, people who have expired LMM and LKM were still given time to renew it within 30 days which is until September 30, 2020.


Cancellation of this exception is in line with the power of the Minister under section 66 (1) (x) and 127 (1) (b) Road Transport Act 1987 (Act 333) that allocates Method - Motor Vehicle Method (Exception) 2020.

In the same time, people are reminded to always get legitimate information and not spread fake news. In addition, people visiting JPJ countertops or any agency under MOT advised to always comply with the Standard Operation Procedures (SOP) set by the National Security Council in the effort to free the country completely from COVID-19. pandemic.
